Community Connection

Series: Values Along the Journey

Community Connection

June 27, 2021 | Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes

Passage: Matthew 25:40-45

Welcome to worship! Knowing we are not on a journey alone, but are joining God and all of God’s children helps us realize serving and connecting with others moves us ahead in life and faith. In today’s message “Community Connection”, Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes looks deeper at Matthew 25:40-45. In those scriptures, Jesus reminds us to reflect on the times when we don’t help people. In order to make real progress on a faithful journey, we cannot leave a person behind; we must assist one another in making progress together if we really want to understand God’s call in our life.

Joining in worship is Rev. Kay Lancaster, Associate Pastor, and Rev. Molly Hayes, Lead Pastor at Church of the Good Shepherd. Sean Hale, Director of Music and Worship, sings “Here I am, Lord”, with Dr. Jamila Javadova-Spitzberg. Other music includes “God of Grace and God of Glory” from the United Methodist Hymnal, “Ave Maria” and “Come, Thou Almighty King”.
