Series: Values Along the Journey
Jesus In Hi-Tops
June 06, 2021 | Rev. Ramiro Rodriguez
Passage: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
Welcome to worship on this Communion Sunday! We’re continuing to look at values along the journey of faith, and today we dive deeper into joyous generosity. In life, we are often told to look out for ourselves, but scripture reminds us to do just the opposite and give joyously to others. Today, Rev. Ramiro Rodriguez explains that joyous generosity is a result of us feeling God’s love and wanting to share it with everyone. Centered on the Bible passages in 2 Corinthians 9:6-15, Pastor Rodriguez’s message encourages us to look for ways to be cheerful givers and connect with others spiritually.
We would love to know you are worshipping with us, and it’s easy to do by visiting arlingtonmethodist.org/worshipguide. You can also submit prayer requests and connect with First United Methodist Church of Arlington staff.
Joining Pastor Rodriguez in worship today is Loni Fancher, Director of Student Ministries, Sean Hale, Director of Worship and Music and Dr. Jamila Javadova-Spitzberg on piano. Musical offerings include “Take My Life and Let It Be” from the United Methodist Hymnal, with Sean Hale signing special music “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty.” The prelude features “Hymn Medley” arranged by Charles Callahan, and the postlude is “Piece d’Orgue” by J.N. Lemmens, both on piano with Dr. Javadova-Spitzberg.
