Sunday School Classes

Each Sunday morning we offer over 20 Sunday school classes for adults. Classes are offered at 10:00 am. Class teaching styles vary with some following formal curriculum, while others use various books on theological topics or have a variety of visiting speakers on current faith-based topics.

Children's Sunday school also meet at 10 am and the nursery is open for infants-PreK.

BELOVED

Age: Diverse | Parlor

A weekly drop-in class for those who aren’t connected to a class or are looking to try something new! Each Sunday we take a deep dive in to the week’s scripture. Led by Rev. Ramiro Rodriguez.


CONNECTIONS

Age: Diverse | Room 266

We are a group of friends striving to be faithful Christians in our community. Class members take turns leading Bible studies and discussions. We support one another with prayer and fellowship. 


FAITH FELLOWSHIP

Age: Diverse | Room 260

A group of women seeking biblical insights into present times and personal needs. Uses various books and curriculum led by members or guest speakers. Periodic socials. Supports church and community projects.


GENESIS

Age: Diverse | Room 251

Diverse and growing group of believers who gather to share in our individual journeys of faith with a focus on spiritual growth. Weekly lesson topics are from the Adult Bible Study series and other topics led by class members. Our class mission is to grow as Disciples of Christ Jesus through study, fellowship, worship and service.


LITURGY YOUNG ADULTS

Age: 18-24 | Room 100

Liturgy is a gathering of young adults between the approximate ages of 18-24. This group is open to college students, graduate students, and young working professionals. In addition to forming friendships and building spiritual companionship, you can expect to meet others who share John Wesley's commitment to social holiness. Every week during the 10 am Sunday School hour, members of the group meet to assemble kits that go toward helping others in the community. For more information, reach out to Pastor Madison at .


THE COMMON TABLE

Age: Young Adults | Room 263

A merging of singles, early career professionals, young married couples, and young families with kids. Whatever point you are at in life, you can find fellowship here! This is a class for those who want active fellowship, both in and out of the church. 


CORNERSTONE

Age: 40+ | Room 254

This class uses United Methodist curriculum and video studies during Sunday morning classes. Monthly social gatherings of families are held to build relationships with God and each other. The class is active in mission ministries throughout the year.  


SEEKERS

Age: 40+ Couples | Room 257

Bible topics and studies led by members and guest speakers. Members participate in church and community mission work. Frequent social events for both adults and families.


THE JOURNEY

Age: 40+ | Room 255

This class uses contemporary curriculum to grow in their faith journey. New members and guests are welcome!


COVENANT WITH THE CROSS

Age: 60+ | Room 262

We are a growing class with a varied membership of both married and single members. Our studies are Biblically-based and presented by class members, outside speakers, and video presentations. Members are very active in supporting mission activities and we provide significant financial and physical support to local charities and the Wesley Foundation at UTA. The class has regular social events including a monthly social and monthly ladies & men's dinners. Our class is a member of the Reconciling United Methodist Network. New members & visitors are always welcome.


RAINBOW

Age: 50+ | Room 155

Bible and topical studies, led by members and guests. Supports United Methodist and civic charities. Monthly socials and other activities.


UPPER ROOM

Age: 55+ | Room 256

Seeking spiritual growth with Bible-related study, led by class members and guests. Supports Children’s and Youth ministries. Class meals and socials promote Christian friendships.


KOINONIA

Age: 50+ | Room 258

An adult group of believers working together to be involved as leaders in the community and our world. We want to show our love to others as the hands and feet of Jesus. We study issues important to our lives, led by members of the class. We work to grow as Disciples of Jesus Christ through study, worship, service and fellowship.

LAMPLIGHTERS

Age: 60+ | Room 261

Weekly programs are provided by diverse Christian, civic and community outreach leaders as well as liturgical Bible teachers. Members provide significant support to One Mile Mission efforts though time, talent and financial support of Arlington Urban Ministries, Arlington Charities, Arlington Life Shelter and more. The class has regular social events including dinners, field trips, men's fishing trips and women's luncheons. Visitors are always welcome.


BIBLE EXPLORERS

Age: 60+  | Room 252

Bible and topical studies, led by members and guests. Participates in church and mission projects. Four socials per year.


SAMARITANS

Age: 60+ | Room 264

Bible study, discussions, book reviews and self-help topics, led by members and guests. Spring and fall retreats. Monthly outings and a variety of social and One Mile Mission activities.


ADULT BIBLE

Age: 60+ | Room 152

Studies of Bible, mission and socio-economic trends, led by members and guests. Active support of missions. Friendly class that welcomes visitors and has a variety of socials.


WESLEY PROGRESSORS

Age: 70+ | Room 154

Uses Adult Bible Study series, led by various speakers. Supports church and local projects. Four socials per year.
