Welcome to worship and today’s message “Reason for the Journey.” God’s clear purposes for success in this life is to enable us to be more generous and to share more of whatever we have with God’s beloved children all around us. In the final week of the series “Generosity for the Journey”, Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes explains we are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ so that we can be the hands and feet of God’s love in the world today. As we experience God’s generosity toward us, our own spirit of generosity allows us to offer more to those around us. The scripture for today’s message is from 2 Corinthians 8:7 and 9:11 and 1 Timothy 6:17-19.

No journey or trip is possible without the right supplies, planning, and support. Our generosity and our willingness to support the journey that God has called us to is what makes it possible to experience God’s love and presence in our life and in our world. Giving of our gifts is what makes God’s love and grace tangible and real for the people and helps us better understand our relationship with material things and know that all we have is a gift from God.
