Welcome to worship! In 2 Corinthians, we read the words “God loves a cheerful giver.” But how do we become cheerful about giving? In this first week of the series "Generosity for the Journey", Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes talks about how the way we love and feel about others directly reveals how generous we desire to be in life. We often show generosity through our financial resources, but there are so many other ways we support and love the world around us with other gifts. Where our treasure is, there our heart will be as well.

No journey or trip is possible without the right supplies, planning, and support. Our generosity and our willingness to support the journey that God has called us to is what makes it possible to experience God’s love and presence in our life and in our world. Giving of our gifts is what makes God’s love and grace tangible and real for the people and helps us better understand our relationship with material things and know that all we have is a gift from God.
