Real Preparation

Series: Stories From the Table

Real Preparation

February 06, 2022 | Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes
Welcome to Table Worship! When we are extending God’s table and inviting people into our lives, or over to a meal, we often feel as though we must prepare everything just right for our guests. While hospitality and preparation are important, the story of Mary and Martha reminds us that real preparation means making time and space for real relationship, not just having the right things on the table or the house picked up.

This week's scripture is Luke 10:38-42.

Series Information

There is no better way for us to learn about the amazing presence of God’s love and how we can learn from that love than by looking at the example of Jesus Christ. Jesus was the perfect example of how God loves us and how we are supposed to live as faithful disciples. Looking at the stories of Jesus around the table while he lived here among us gives us insights, learnings, and hope about how we too can be more inviting around the tables in life.
