New Year's Day Worship

Series: Forward to New Normal

New Year's Day Worship

January 01, 2023 | Rev. Kay Lancaster

Passage: Matthew 2:13-23

The post-Christmas journey was not at all what anyone would have expected. The change of directions and new callings must have been a surprise to all involved in the amazing story of Christ’s birth. With that said, the new, and often uncomfortable, journey that the Christmas story portrays was exactly what was needed at the time and God’s presence and grace flowed through the newness. This new year, how might we be open to the new and even uncomfortable?

Series Information

God is always calling us forward, always making things new. Returning to the past or what used to work or be comfortable in life is not the ideal goal for a disciple of Jesus Christ. Coming out of the past few years, we all want to find a sense of normal, but that must be a new normal that God is still creating. How can we best love God and love people at First UMC Arlington as we move forward in 2023 to a new normal?
