Journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem

Series: Journey to Christmas

Journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem

December 19, 2021 | Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes

Passage: Luke 2:1-7

As Mary and Joseph waited for the birth of their first child, they had yet another unplanned twist in the journey. We read in the second chapter of Luke, they made a difficult trip to Bethlehem, and once there, finding no room to stay made it even worse. God’s timing is never our timing, but Mary and Joseph were faithful on their journey and the amazing outcome of God’s love and grace, Jesus, was born unto us all. As we continue our “Journey to Christmas”, Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes asks how we can become more accepting with unexpected and unwanted journeys to see God’s glory at the end of the road. Our scripture this Sunday is Luke 2:1-7

Series Information

As we look ahead to celebrating Christmas, we realize that the greatest journey ever taken was God’s journey to be born among us in the person of Jesus Christ. God has been so willing to do anything to come and be with us and show us that we are never alone. How can we learn about our journey, as we look at the journeys connected to the first Christmas, so that we might be more connected to God’s love, presence, and grace this Christmas season?
