Joseph's Journey

Series: Journey to Christmas

Joseph's Journey

December 05, 2021 | Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes

Passage: Matthew 1:18-24

Joseph had two choices: Follow God’s path, which would be difficult and cause insult and pain, or take the easy way out and simply leave the situation and follow his own path. In week two of on the “Journey to Christmas”, Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes tells us although our scenarios may not be quite as dramatic, we all have the same choices in life. We can follow a faithful path that is often more difficult, or take an easier path we would prefer, but is not God’s desire or plan. Reflecting on Matthew 1:18-24, Joseph helps us learn to stay on the path God has for us, even when it is difficult.

Series Information

As we look ahead to celebrating Christmas, we realize that the greatest journey ever taken was God’s journey to be born among us in the person of Jesus Christ. God has been so willing to do anything to come and be with us and show us that we are never alone. How can we learn about our journey, as we look at the journeys connected to the first Christmas, so that we might be more connected to God’s love, presence, and grace this Christmas season?
