ASJ 'Do No Harm' Forum: LGBTQ+ Justice and Equality

ASJ 'Do No Harm' Forum: LGBTQ+ Justice and Equality
Sunday, June 02, 2024, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

First UMC Arlington's Advocates for Social Justice have an ongoing forum series called Do No Harm. These forums are intended to bring folks together in order to consider and discuss Christian perspectives and responses to complex, yet important social topics. You can view our latest forum by visiting

The next forum will take place on Sunday, June 2 and will focus on LGBTQ+ Justice and Equality. While significant progress has been made in recent decades, this demographic continues to have their rights challenged or neglected. Sharon Hererra, founder and executive director of the nonprofit organization LGBTQ Saves, will be sharing her wisdom and insight with us. Furthermore, given that the UMC has seen a number of churches disafilliate these last few years over the topic of LGBTQ+ inclusion, we might consider what is next for us, both as a denomination and as a local church. You won't want to miss this dynamic conversation! Please RSVP using the link here.

Our speakers would love to know your questions ahead of time! What would you like to hear them discuss? What concerns are especially important to you? Let us know here:
