Volunteer

A willingness to serve is the greatest indicator of a Christ-focused and healthy church. First United Methodist Church of Arlington is committed to providing its members opportunities to serve and share the love of Christ with our neighbors and with people around the world. Below are some of the many ways you can get involved at First UMC Arlington

Special Needs Ministry Volunteers

Special Needs Ministries, Sunday Mornings

We are getting back to our Special Needs Ministry programs in the coming weeks and have a few different opportunities for adults & youth to volunteer at:
  • Special Needs Vacation Bible Camp: Date TBD
  • First Friday Respite Program for families with special needs children and siblings (meets on the first Friday of the month during the school year but will meet on the 2nd Friday in September due to Labor Day)
  • Shining Stars Sunday School: This class meets at 10:00 am on Sundays for elementary aged kids
Our volunteers must be MinistrySafe and Safe Sanctuary approved. We pair at least one adult with each special needs participant. Siblings may be matched with youth volunteers.
If you're interested in one of these outstanding opportunity to share God’s blessings, while being abundantly blessed in the process, please contact Rev. Kay Lancaster at
