Series: Seeing God in Times Like These
Dirt Between the Toes
August 30, 2020 | Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes
Passage: Exodus 3:1-12
Worship is headed outdoors this week! As we read Exodus 3:1-12 and chapters 3 & 4 of "An Altar in the World" by Barbara Brown Taylor, we reflect on how God doesn't love us from a distance, but loves us in the dirt and mess of real life. As we walk the dirty paths of life and deal with the realities of the world around us, God is not off at a distance, but God is right there in the middle of things.
Joining Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes & Rev. Molly Hayes in worship this week is Loni Fancher, Director of Youth Ministries. In music, Sean Hale, Director of Music & Worship sings "He Leadeth Me, O Blessed Thought" and "From the Day You Were Born", accompanied by Dr. Jamila Javadova-Spitzberg on piano & organ.

In the strange new realities that we find ourselves in, how do we continue to find and see God clearly? We are promised that God is always with us and that we are never alone, but seeing God and God’s work in our daily living can be a great challenge. Join us the next several weeks as we seek to learn how to see God in our midst.
