Series: Seeing God in Times Like These
Being Present to God
September 27, 2020 | Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes
Passage: Mark 14:32-41
Seeing God clearly often starts with dedicated time for prayer, reflection, and offering ourselves to God. In this week's message, "Being Present to God", (Mark 14:32-41) Rev. Dr. Chris J. Hayes explores how taking our full lives to God in prayer connects us with our loving God in a way that is often difficult to do when we do not present our hopes, dreams, joys, and pains to God.
Joining him in worship are Rev. Molly Hayes, Betsy Spencer, and the Seekers Sunday school class. We also have the joy of celebrating the baptism of Chris and Malena Farmer.
In music, Libby Stage sings "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and Sean Hale sings "Give Me Jesus", accompanied by Dr. Jamila Javadova-Spitzberg on organ and piano. Prelude and postlude music includes "Spirit of God, Descend Upon My Heart" and "Holy God We Praise Thy Name."
