Pastor Chris was appointed as Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Arlington in July 2019. Chris is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and previously served as the Senior Pastor of Keller UMC, Senior Pastor of First UMC of Colleyville, Executive Pastor at First UMC Arlington, and has held staff positions at Arlington Heights UMC, First UMC Hewitt, Bruceville/Eddy and Mooreville United Methodist Churches.
Dr. Hayes grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University, and his Master's and Doctorate degrees from Texas Christian University. Chris' passion is to help people connect to God through worship and study while at the same time connecting all of God's people together through community and service. Dr. Hayes believes that to be faithful and fruitful disciples of Jesus Christ, we must not only share the Gospel of God, but we must also share life with one another (1 Thessalonians 2:8).
Chris has four boys, Benjamin, Aaron, Reid, and Elliott, who are an amazing blessing from God. Chris’ wife Molly is truly his best friend and his partner in life and ministry. Molly is also an ordained elder in the UMC and currently serves as the Lead Pastor at Church of The Good Shepherd United Methodist.
