FUMC of Arlington

140th Anniversary

140th Anniversary

Rain or shine, we're celebrating today - a little rain won't stop us, we're just watering our roots! Join us in the Great Hall for lunch after worship, and in Hagler Hall for games and activities.

We’re celebrating 140 years of worshipping, learning, and serving at First United Methodist Church of Arlington. Our celebration is on Sunday, May 20, which is the 140th day of the year (seriously!), as well as Heritage Sunday and Pentecost Sunday. Sounds like the perfect day for a celebration to us! Join us for a day of food, fun, and fellowship.

Several of our former pastors have been invited back to preach that Sunday (see schedule below), and members of our local community are also invited to attend. First United Methodist Church of Arlington is the oldest church in Arlington, and we want to celebrate the connections and community that have grown over the years!

More details will be announced here soon, as well as ways for you to get involved.

Greeter Sign-up

What's a celebration without a little food? The church will be providing barbecue sandwiches for our 140th celebration lunch, and we're asking our Sunday school classes to help with chips, drinks, dessert, and some volunteers to serve up lunch! All of our food donation slots have been filled! If you're looking for a way for you or your class to get involved, visit the Greeter sign-up form above.
