The First United Methodist Church of Arlington values its older members, offering programs to help them continue experiencing God's love.

One such program is OWLS, or Older Wiser Laughing Souls, which is geared toward members 55 years and older. Its motto is "We give a HOOT," or, We Help Each Other Out.

The group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. for a potluck luncheon and activities. OWLS attends performances by the Madrigal Show Choir from Lamar High School and plays at Theater Arlington, among others.

Those joining the group are asked to bring a dish to share for 10 to 12 people.
